Lift Up Your Hands

Lift Up Your Hands

Psalms 134:2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD ".

How do you honour God when you come into the sanctuary? Is it the sanctuary in your heart or the church building? When we come into the sanctuary are we coming with an expectation that our Abba Father will meet us there? When we come into the sanctuary do we come in with clean hands and a pure heart? Or do we come with burdens and concerns in our heart waiting to hear a word from The Lord. When we come to the house of God we should be bringing the spirit of God with us. We should come into the sanctuary filled with His power and authority that only comes from being in his presence before we even enter the door. With a great expectation that God is already there waiting for our arrival. Too many times we come just to be coming or because it is a ritual, or we are being dutiful to an assigned act of service. Maybe we are to pray, or usher, or sing in the choir perhaps read a scripture or read the announcements or run the audio equipment. Is it the music that ignites us to praise and worship? Or are you remembering a time when God showed up and answered your prayers?

The scripture tells us how to Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD ".  This is the posture that he requires of people. It is a sign of surrendering. Acknowledging where our help comes from. Many times we will clap for God when the pastors says “Give God a hand clap of Praise”, and we have been taught to acknowledging Him that way. This is only the beginning of praising God. Have you done this? We clap for a man when we bestow and honor on him. Sometimes we acknowledge God the same way we honor man. God tells us throughout the scriptures to lift up our hands to him. Perhaps the next time you are in the sanctuary at your church try lifting up both hands to God. Have you been in  the presence of God where the glory fills the room? 1 Kings 8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord. You can feel the heaviness of his glory, his majesty, abundance, wealth in the room. Sometimes the pastor might say that the work has been done we can go home now. God can do in a few seconds what would take us months and years to get our breakthrough.Have you experience a time in the presence of God and the person beside, in back or in front of you are not aware that the King of Glory has entered the room? They do not feel his presence. Why would that be? When God enters a room your spirit should ignite and connect with His Holy Spirit if you are a child of God. Know pastor or worship leader should have to tell you his presence is here. If you have a personal relationship with him.

The Psalmist also tells us in

Psalms 121: 1-2 I will lift up my eyes unto the hills for whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth, Psalm 3:3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. He prefers for us to kneel before Him too. Psalms 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. We can bow before him and kneel by placing our hands in an uplifting position. It is an act of humility. Have your ever been in the presence of God and bowed where you were standing with outstretched arms. Think about this Jesus arms where stretched out horizontally when he hung on the cross. The angels will hold your up. Without their assistance on your own you couldn’t bow down that long( that has been my experience). Don’t be concerned about what other people may think or say. If you are ever led to do this you know that you are in the presence of the Almighty God. You are honoring God and being obedient. It is time out for the children of God to keep sitting down on him during a service and simply clapping our hands to music. Arise and stand up for Jesus. Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. God is the only one who sits on the Throne. We have become too complacent and comfortable sitting down. In heaven we will also bow before him and throw our crowns at his feet. Rev 4:10. Remember that earth is our dress rehearsal for heaven. Keep practicing the posture of honoring our Abba Father and Jesus Christ with kneeling and bowing before them.

Word of Prophecy

In Closing

God is moving us into another position. He is catapulting us for the purpose that he has ordained for us . We must move forward in the things of God. It is his desired destiny for us. We are being catapulted as a weapon to come against the darkness of this world. We can see that the world loves darkness and prefers evil. The world needs the light of God to reside in each person. We as children of the Most High God should be filled with his power and authority that when we enter a room God presence is with us, in us and through us. The fire of God should be ignited when we move through space and time because we are people of influence and children of our Abba Father. So in closing: We are called to action! Stay in his will, way, and word, and connect others to the knowledge and power of Jesus Christ while you still have time. Amen
